Democratic system under threat: Ejaz

LAHORE: The democratic system is facing serious threats, as the government is being run ineffectively, former federal minister Ejazul Haq said on Monday. Speaking in a programme on Business Plus, Haq said the system could be in jeopardy if the government ignored the supremacy of parliament. He said he had good relations with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, adding that “reports of misunderstandings in our relations are baseless and devoid of truth”. The former minister said he wanted all PML factions to shun their differences and unite to face the challenges the country was currently facing. He said he neither supported the Chaudhrys nor the dissident group of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid, when they were at loggerheads. daily times monitor
